Dr. Marcus Gillespie is a retired Associate Dean and Associate Professor from Sam Houston State University, where he also chaired the Department of Environmental and Geosciences. With a Ph.D. in Geography from Texas A&M University and a robust educational background that includes multiple Bachelor’s degrees and a Master’s degree in Geography, Dr. Gillespie has taught a wide range of courses from earth science education to advanced topics like climatology and Quaternary soil science. His extensive experience in earth sciences and geomorphology, combined with a career spanning secondary education to university leadership, forms the foundation for his insightful book on the impacts of climate change on civilization and biodiversity.
